A fresh force for good!
FIKA Catering Achieves
B Corp™ Certification
London-based workplace caterer joins global movement to use business as a force for good
London, UK 10/04/2025
FIKA Catering, the purpose-led catering company reimagining workplace hospitality for progressive businesses, is proud to announce its certification as a Certified B Corporation®.
This globally recognised certification is awarded to companies that meet the highest verified standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. It reflects FIKA’s mission to do more than serve food, to serve people, planet and purpose with every plate, cup and connection.
“From day one, Fika was built to challenge the norm,” said Ed Walker, Founder & CEO. “We didn’t want to just run a good catering company. We set out to build a values-led business that creates a meaningful impact every day. Becoming a B corp™ shows we’re serious about that. It gives our clients, our team and our community a clear signal that our purpose is baked into everything we do – and we’re only just getting started.”
Rethinking Workplace Hospitality
FIKA was created in response to a post-pandemic workplace — where wellbeing, culture, and flexible food experiences are more important than ever. The company offers clients an ‘on-site’ catering solution, as well as delivering catering and hospitality services across London, spanning restaurants, pop-ups, deli bars, theatre cookery, specialty coffee, grab & go, hospitality and bespoke events.
With three operational dark kitchens, reception services, a growing on-site team, and a commercial restaurant, FIKA Xchange in Canary Wharf, FIKA blends creativity, social value and culinary excellence to meet clients’ evolving needs.
What Makes FIKA Different?
Becoming a B Corp™ meant legally embedding FIKA’s commitment to consider the impact of every business decision on people, communities and the planet — not just shareholders.
FIKA is already delivering real, measurable impact through:
The Bloom Coffee Academy: Its not-for-profit social enterprise that trains homeless and disadvantaged individuals as SCA-qualified baristas and supports them into employment at London Living Wage.
London Living Wage as Standard: Guaranteed LLW across all roles.
Sustainability Initiatives: Including Grow and Glow (repurposing coffee grounds), The Wastage Guardian (a chef-led food waste challenge) and reusable cup schemes in collaboration with value-led clients.
Wellbeing First Culture: From ‘YOURSPACE’, a safe mental health support space led by a trained Samaritan, to ‘Wednesday Wellness’ events that bring together food, fitness and connection.
“This isn’t just a badge — it’s a belief system,” said Karoline Martins, Marketing Director. “Our B Corp™ Certification proves that we’re not just about great coffee and fresh food, we’re here to lead a new kind of hospitality: one rooted in integrity, inclusion and impact.”
Built to Last — and Built to Lead
FIKA was awarded “Boutique Caterer of the Year” at the 2024 Foodservice Cateys and ranked 10th in The Caterer’s Best Places to Work in Hospitality — the highest-placed B&I contract caterer on the list.
As a fast-growing business, FIKA operates with full profit transparency and is unafraid to challenge the industry status quo. Every dark kitchen, every employee benefit, every social initiative is proof that hospitality can, and must — be a force for good.
What’s Next?
B Corp™ Certification is not the end — it’s the beginning of a deeper commitment. FIKA will recertify every three years, holding itself to evolving global standards that raise the bar for social, environmental, and governance performance.
“A huge thank you to Andy from Business on Purpose, who was pivotal in gently supporting and guiding us in the early days of our B Corp™ journey. His encouragement helped shape the path to where we are today.
We know good food can bring people together, but great food, delivered with purpose, can help build better workplaces, better communities and better futures.” added Ed Walker.
